The First Connection [DEMO]

The First Connection is a quirky OFF and Undertale-inspired rpg about a guy named User (don't ask me about his name) who goes on a journey through the dying universe to kill its tyranic king because a mysterious voice that controls him told him to do so.

The dying universe has been around for so long that the only thing remaining here are the four planets, bound to each other with giant chain, and thousand of eyes in the sky. Lemiah, the king of one of those planets, had all the resources required to save the planets and transport them to a better place, but preferred to hold them in his grip for whatever amount of time the universe has left. You start as a nobody, banished from Odium, the third planet, to Satus, the first and the worst planet, and a mysterious voice who calls himself Marfus makes a contract with you that will make you resurrect from death, but in exchange requires you to kill Lemiah and his three Caretakers, each one being in charge of each planet.

The game is a more-or-less story-driven rpg with elements of roguelike and farming simulator. You start the day with looking after your crops, and then proceed to go to different Zones of the four planets, collecting resources, fighting somewhat comprehensible abominations, and exploring dungeons in order to defeat the Caretakers only to die in the end and get back to your bed. Day after day, Cycle after Cycle, Variation after Variation, again and again and again and again and again and again and---- But hey, look at the bright side, at least you get to meet a bunch of weirdos and repopulate a village in the middle of nowhere!

Credits

Most of the sprites and animations were made by me, with the exception of one easter egg enemy sprite, made by _face.melter_ (check out her Youtube channel).

Huge thanks to der_leere for making themes for intro and a few battles, and ZLD1 for making main menu theme. The rest of songs were also made by me.

This game was made with RPG Maker MV and uses plugins by Galv, Karberus, Mr. Trivel, Yanfly Engine, SumRndmDde, Hudell, Galenmereth/TDD, chronosv2, Casper Gaming, Moghunter and Unconnected42. (I deeply apologise if I forgot anyone, if you noticed some of your plugins in the game files but weren't given credit, contact me through the discord).

Some of the sound effects were taken from SweetSounds SFX pack by Coffee "Valen" Bat, the rest are either default RPG Maker MV sound effects or taken from pixabay.com.

Some of the backgrounds were made with the help of Pixel Space Background Generator by Deep Fold.
